How does domain transfer work?

A domain transfer moves the domain registration from one registrar to another. In many cases, the current registrar must unlock the domain and provide an authorization code, sometimes called an EPP code.

Domain registration and website hosting are separate. A-Tech can often host or support a website even when the domain stays registered elsewhere, as long as DNS can be updated correctly. Transfers can take time and may be affected by registrar locks, expiration dates, or contact verification.
